How my mind works...sometimes

So, I decided to start training on Wednesday. I prefer winter running, as long as I can do it outside. It's cold, but no one else is out there, and I don't feel like "part of the crowd" when I run during the winter. I'm a little more unique, maybe a little more crazy.

So, when I run I push the 2 youngest in my BOB stroller. They enjoy it unless they start poking each other, then it's a fiasco until we get home.

Anyway, this morning it was flurrying, not as cold temperature-wise as yesterday, but at least yesterday there was sun, which made it feel warmer. Today it was cloudy, breezy, and did I mention SNOWING? Anyway, my littlest ones toes were quite cold when we got back yesterday, so I had in the back of my mind what I could do to try and keep his toes, and inside the stroller, warm.

My mind wandered to cold toes, and cold houses (I like my house cold), and how chilly it is to get into bed at night, and then passed on to how "way back when" when they used to put rocks in the fire to get them hot, and then they would wrap them up, and place them in the bottom of them bed...and voila. Suddenly it came to me. No, I was not going to start a rock on fire. I knew I had a rice bag (actually it's popcorn kernels, but whatever) around here somewhere, but wouldn't you know it, I couldn't find it.

So, I called up my running partner to see if she had one, and she sure did. So, she brought it over and I heated it up in the microwave and then I put it down at his feet, and wouldn't you know it, but he had warm toes/legs when we were done!! Success!

Now if only I could get them to quit poking each other the last .5 mile of the run when I am so pooped that I can't get after them, I just have to keep going and let them beat at each other. Oh younger brothers. Sometimes they stink...isn't that right boys?

my toes are totally warm and toasty while i sit at home in front of the fireplace sipping cocoa. maybe you should consider that approach.

You are crazy! Just kidding. I just don't love running or the cold like you do. We have a BOB as well. They are great!
