So, this year the kids decided that they wanted to paint their pumpkins instead of carve them. Great! I thought. Less work for me.
See, usually the 2 younger kids tell me what they want their pumpkins to be, and then I have to carve it. Lots of work for me. I don't like it.
So, I decided that painting is (hopefully) the way to go from now on. Much easier, and I hate all the time it takes to scoop out the insides!
Although, there are a couple of things that I did learn that I will do different next year.
1. Check the weather report. Why? Well, when you stick a pumpkin outside after it is painted, and the paint is still wet, and it starts to rain on said pumpkin, the paint tends to just...wash away.
2. CHANGE KIDS OUT OF SCHOOL CLOTHES!
3. Use more newspaper on the table...and the chairs, and the floor, and the baby...you can never have too much.
4. Keep wipes handy, especially when you have someone who doesn't really like to get dirty, or like her pumpkin to drip.
I think that might be all that I learned. Fun times! You should try it sometime! Oh- and don't forget the pink!

Cute pumpkins. Instead of newspaper I bought a vinyl table cloth and we just keep reusing it.
