Seriously?!?!?!

So, in the fall, on a regular basis (every day) we go to a neighboring farm and cut down corn stalks to feed to our cows. Sometimes I go get a load, and then drive around Moscow with it in the back of my truck until I can get out to the cows.

Case in point: Wednesday. As I was dropping off Cayson to Karate, a gal stops me and asks after my corn stalk decorations in the back of my pick-up. Thinking she was joking, I made some smart remark back about yeah, I really like to get into the fall spirit.

She then goes, "so you just drive around cutting down peoples corn stalks?"

Um....no. These are from our farm (yes I said "our" - I wasn't into splitting hairs, here) and I am going to take them out to our cows."

Oh (totally serious and somber at this point) then I guess those aren't really for decoration?

Are you kidding me? Yeah, I just drive around moscow with corn stalks smashed down in the back of my truck, flinging debris all over the place, for DECORATION.

Another one: Jeremy was in the Spokane Airport standing in line behind a couple of college gals. One leaned over to the other and said,
"Did you hear about all of the cases of swine flu reported at WSU?"
And the other girl, -and this is no joke, I am TOTALLY serious, leans back and says,
"Yea, I guess we all know what they had for dinner!"

Okay, hello?? Where is Darwin when we need him? Are you freiking kidding me?

I just had to take a picture of this. Now picture me in the corn field, using this machete to chop down corn stalks, pretending their the heads of....never mind. And yes, this sits under the drivers seat of my truck. Don't piss me off, man! And don't make stupid comments! I don't put up with it well.

Hello, Sharilyn!!! Thanks for finding me! I have read several of your posts and laughed and laughed. You have a little character on your hands! Your kids are sure cute! I hear about you every time Shanlie and I talk (which isn't nearly enough these days).
Reading your post about the flour in the salsa had me in tears. My cousin was making "Dixie's Salsa" a couple of weeks ago, and I remembered those days well and how upset it made you guys. THEN your mom has to give some to my mom, who LOVED it and had to make her own!!!
We put towels under the bedroom doors and didn't get dressed until it was time to run out the door to school. Helped a little, but...not enough.
Too funny!
Hope you guys are doing well!
