Our Bathroom

So, we're finally getting our counter top done! Can you believe? I guess one piece at a time, right?

It is slate, it is called Canyon. It is really cool. The tile pieces are actually 16 inches, but they're cut down into 8 inch pieces. Our tile layer is amazing. He does an amazing job. It is REALLY hard to work with slate! I'm purdy sure he inwardly groaned when he got to our house and he realized that we were making him work with more slate. AND, that part of the back splash is those tiny glass tiles. He is totally game to do it, but I'm darn sure that it isn't his favorite.

Once the grout is in, we're going to pour an epoxy resin over the top, which will make it like a bar top, and will make it smooth and even. If you've seen slate before, it is a cut stone, so it is not even or anything like that. So, once the epoxy is on it, Jericho will tile the black splash, because then there will be an even surface to place the tiles on. More pics coming soon. It is really cool!!!
