Hiawatha Trail

We had planned on leaving at around 11:30 in the morning. We eventually rolled out of there (the final time) at 6:30.

Jeremy, Tim, and the boys drove the truck/trailer, and Meredith and I drove the suburban. The first trailer that we had (it was a four-wheeler trailer), about 20 minute into the trip Meredith and I kept smelling something funny so finally Jeremy pulled over, and the bearing was ruined on the trailer, so we drove slowly back home, with the plan to hook Tim & Meredith's horse trailer, transfer stuff over to it, and then take off. Since, when you camp/bike with 12 poeple, you need room!

After we got home, Meredith and I threw some sandwiches together while the hubbies went to get the horse trailer. While they were hooking it up, the truck went BANG and shut off. Tim and Jeremy ran around to the front to see smoke pouring out from under the hood, and smoke it the cab. They thought for sure that they had ruined the truck.

They were able to get it running again, and they drove it to a local repair shop, where we found out that Bruneel (yeah, don't ever give them your business) had kinked an AC hose when they had it the day before, and it had blown, so thankfully it was okay to drive. So, they went back, hooked up the trailer, and got back to our house where we then transferred things from one trailer to the other one. By the time we got the heck out of Dodge it was 6:30. By the time we made it to a camping spot, it was after 9:00. But, the camping place that we found was really cool!!

Unfortunately because we were retarded, we didn't get any pictures of the campsite with the tents, etc. in it, nor did we remember to take the the camera down the trail.

This is the bottom of the trail. We took this picture the next day.

We finally got pictures after we had cleaned up camp.

Someone had dammed up the river right next to our campsite, and so we got to play in the pool. It was really cold! But, the kids had a lot of fun. And, thank goodness, our return trip was much less exciting.

Although, Tim called last night, he went to move the horse trailer, and he found that on one of the tires, there was only one tight lug nut! All the rest were ready to fall off!!!

camping always sounds like so much fun...then I remember all the LITTLE kids that I have. I don't know how you do it and stay sane!
