Idlers Rest

We stuck closer to home this trip. It was a lot of fun, though! There are a lot of different trails around in this area, and we saw a lot of bugs, and Cayson even saw some squirrels fighting!

This was a really cool set of rocks that we had to pose next to.

Of course MaKayla couldn't walk for herself for too long, and she found a sucker in Mindy who carried her part of the way on her shoulders. They both had fun!

We got all the kids to hold still for a couple of shots The bridges were a favorite. They sure are rugrats!

So after lunch and a couple of breakdowns, Mindy took the girls and her two boys home, and Cayson, Carli, Gabe and I stayed around to do a little more hiking. The trees around there were really cool. There are some neat tree sculptures.

Then we found this really cool tree. I think it was termites. It really looked in danger of fallig over! I couldn't convince the two kids to go any closer than you see in the pics.

It seemed to be not held up by much.

This next shot is lookng up the tree. It was really cool, the picture doesn't quite capture it, of course.

On a lighter note, for anyone who cares, the fencing is done, except for a couple of wire gates that they have to make! Can you believe it? I get my husband back after 3 years!! We might be able to go camping this year! Horray horray!

Wow! You guys have been busy. It looks like TONS of fun, but I have to say, it makes me tired just reading it. Oh wait, I was already tired. :) Beautiful pictures! I'm jealous of all your energy and fun!

Hey, unrelated to this post, but have you ever heard of the last rune series by Mark Anthony? A reviewer decribes it as a lot like the wheel of time series. Actually he said, "Beyond the Pale isn't entirely derivative of Jordan's wildly popular Wheel of Time series: if nothing else, Anthony sets himself apart by having things actually happen in his book." Sounds like one I'd like as my main complaint with Jordan is the fact that it takes 100's of pages for one small thing to happen. :)
